Mini Leagues
MINI LEAGUE RULES
Our Mini Leagues are open to anyone.
- NEW PLAYERS wishing to enter the mini leagues please contact the League Organiser Tom Cockshutt by email tom.cockshutt@icloud.com. Please state which division you wish to enter and why that would be suitable. Alternatively, you can challenge players from the division you wish to enter to identify you level.
- LEAGUE DURATION – Is approximately six weeks, to allow time for a least one game per week. Leagues finish on that date stated on the Mini League Tables (links available on the website)
- SCORING – Matches are best of 5 games. American scoring (one point scored every rally). Each game to 15. If the score is 14-14 then a tie break is played and the winner is the one who goes 2 points clear. (14-16).

- PLAYER MOVEMENT – Where possible the top two players will be promoted and the bottom two relegated. However, this can be affected by new players entering and players leaving the competition.
- PLAYERS FAILING TO PLAY can be dropped from the leagues without any prior consultation unless a genuine reason is given. All players should make an effort to play ALL their games in each session to ensure inclusion in the next league. Every effort should be made to make yourself available for matches when contacted by fellow players.
- MATCH PLAY RULES - Games are played in accordance with the ENGLAND SQUASH rules for World Singles Game, effective from 5 December 2020 at the WSF Annual General Meeting. Also, in accordance with the rules governing the use of Haltemprice Leisure Centre.
- POINTS MAY ONLY BE CLAIMED IF….
- Your opponent fails to turn up for a pre-arranged match. Result 6-0
- Three prior attempts have been made to arrange a match without success and no reason has bene given to the Mini League Organiser. Result 6-0
- PLAYERS INJURED or have a genuine reason for not being available to play and have notified the Mini League Organiser will not be dropped from the league but may be relegated to a lower division.
- FINAL DECISION – The decision of the Mini League Organiser if final.
- MATCH LOCATION - Matches can be played at other locations.

There are no entry fee's. Just book and share the cost of the court with your opponent.

Results are corrolated and added to the ladder to determine the mini league player of the year and winner receives The John Bean & Steve Ball Trophy. So the more games you play the better chance you have of moving up the ladder.
